Job Description

*Job Summary:* This position is responsible for performing intermediate service and repair of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment on-site at customer sites or rail yard using a mobile service truck. The hourly pay range for this role is between $26.53 and $33.16 per hour. *Schedule:* * Sunday - Wednesday: 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. *Benefits:* The Company offers the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, as may be in effect from time to time: medical benefit, dental benefit, vision benefit, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off commensurate with tenure (includes vacation and sick time), two weeks of paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually. *Key Responsibilities:* * Perform intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire replacements, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipment * Troubleshoot and repair ABS system * Properly operate the mobile service truck and attend to truck inventory * Assist with the onboarding and mentorship of tractor technician trainees * Follow all safety requirements while onsite and at customer locations * Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures * Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate cost of repairs * Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment * Patch holes in trailer or container side panels and roofs * Perform annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under direct supervision In addition to the company benefits listed above, the maintenance team will also have access to: * Skills training and career growth opportunities through J.B. Hunt's Technician Career Advancement (TCA) program. * Company-provided uniforms and annual boot program * Safety culture with bonus incentives *Minimum Qualifications:* * 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs. or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs. with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience * Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences * Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines * Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program * Willingness to work outdoors in the elements * Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed *Preferred Qualifications:* * High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent * DOT certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes * Welding certification * Forklift certification and experience * EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license * Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums * Ability to manage multiple priorities * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) * Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively * Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) * Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE) *Compensation:* Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
