Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in White Pine County, Nevada. Its workforce comes from Ely, Eureka, Elko, and Spring Creek area. Kinross acquired in Bald Mountain in January 2016. Nevada is one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend.
The Executive Administrative Assistant will support the Kinross Nevada Vice President and General Manager by managing the calendar, organizing meetings and events, booking essential travel, working closely with departments at both Kinross Nevada sites, and preparing communications and reports for different audiences. This position is primarily remote work, with occasional in-office duties and travel to the mine site locations.
1. Acts as a point of contact between the Kinross Nevada VP & GM and internal/external personnel.
2. Anticipates needs, performs routine and non-routine tasks (phone, e-mail, contacts, etc.), and handles high-level or confidential correspondence; ensures accuracy and high-quality work.
3. Handles requests and queries professionally and accurately.
4. Manages calendar for Kinross Nevada VP & GM with consideration for time management, travel logistics, and efficient meeting engagement.
5. Coordinates events for the Company by planning and carrying out all necessary logistics and details including preparing the meeting space, ordering food, preparing handouts and materials, and coordinating travel arrangements as needed.
6. Coordinates visits with internal (Kinross) and external visitors, builds travel itineraries, and books travel arrangements including flights, hotel accommodations or company housing, and vehicle as necessary.
7. Provides assistance with the development and preparation of draft documents, reports, PowerPoint presentations, meeting summaries and similar documents for different audiences.
8. Assists with non-routine administrative projects as needed such as organizing special events, coordinating documents or preparing mailers and packages. performs routine and non-routine tasks and handles high level or confidential correspondence; ensures accuracy and quality of all work completed.
9. Assist with invoice payment, research, and validate purchases and credit card reconciliations.
10. Responds to employees’ questions and inquiries related to administrative matters and if needed, provides guidance and support to department leaders and other administrative staff.
11. Provides regular and efficient communication to Kinross Nevada VP & GM.
12. Demonstrates good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
14. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
15. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
16. Ability to travel to the mine site locations on occasion and as business needs require.
17. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
18. Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
1. Five years of experience in advanced administrative duties preferred.
2. Proficient with Microsoft, including Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
3. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
4. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of employees and management.
5. Ability to work independently and as a member of the management team.
6. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
7. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
8. Basic knowledge of procedures and practices
9. Thorough operational knowledge of office equipment and machines (i.e., phone / fax, copier, printer, plotter, postage scale and meter.
10. Working knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling and letter formats.
