Job description:

• Arrange and coordinate  ocean import shipments from overseas origins to U.S. destinations.
• Communicate daily with overseas agents, ocean carriers, customs brokers, truckers, and customers.
• Prepare, review, and process  import documentation including arrival notices, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
• Ensure all required documents are received for  customs clearance .
• Track and monitor  shipment status , providing timely updates to customers.
• Coordinate  delivery arrangements with truckers and warehouses.
• Review and approve  freight invoices , ensuring accurate billing and cost control.
• Handle  data entry and maintain shipment information in the company’s TMS or forwarding system.
• Resolve any  shipment discrepancies, delays, or claims promptly and professionally.
• Maintain compliance with  U.S. Customs regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Ocean Import or Freight Forwarding.
• Strong understanding of  INCOTERMS, ocean carrier processes, and import documentation .
• Experience with  Customs clearance procedures preferred.
• Proficiency in  Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)and freight management systems (CargoWise, etc.).
• Excellent  communication, organization, and problem-solving skills .
• Ability to  work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual in English and another language (Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of  CBP regulations and  HTS codes is an advantage.
• Prior experience working with  NVOCCs or logistics companies .
