The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the residential mental health and substance abuse treatment facility. This includes ensuring patient living areas, clinical spaces, administrative offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established protocols. The Housekeeper plays a key role in supporting infection control, health, and safety standards for clients and staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning of patient bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and program spaces.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces and ensure proper sanitation practices throughout the facility.
• Launder patient linens and facility laundry as needed.
• Monitor and restock housekeeping supplies and notify leadership when orders are needed.
• Dispose of trash and biohazard waste according to facility policies and health regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including wiping down counters, tables, and appliances.
• Prepare and cook food for patients, as needed.
• Ensure compliance with infection control procedures, especially in high-risk or high-traffic areas.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the House Manager or Director of Operations .
• Follow all HIPAA and confidentiality regulations regarding patient information.
• Participate in routine safety drills and emergency preparedness protocols as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Education, Licensing, and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No professional license required.
• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience in healthcare, residential, or hospitality settings preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning products and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must pass background check and drug screening in accordance with facility policy.

Reporting Structure:

Reports directly to the House Manager or Director of Operations at the Knoxville residential facility.
