Now Hiring: Garden Educator (Part-Time)

Join 4Roots , an Orlando-based nonprofit dedicated to unearthing the power of food to build healthy communities.

We’re looking for a  Garden Educator to bring garden-based education to life for students in our “Garden-to-Table” after-school program, primarily serving Boys & Girls Club locations across Orange and Osceola Counties. This is a dynamic, hands-on role perfect for someone who loves working with youth and is energized by digging into both soil and science.

Position Type: Part-Time | Term Position August 2025–July 2026

Locations: Off-site at community partner gardens + 4Roots Farm Campus (as needed)

Reports To: Youth Programs Manager

Travel Required: Yes – must have reliable transportation and a valid FL driver’s license

What You’ll Do:

• Lead engaging, hands-on garden lessons for K–12 students on topics like garden design, soil science, nutrition, and sustainability.
• Maintain and support raised bed gardens — planting, weeding, and helping them thrive for learning use.
• Adapt and deliver our garden curriculum to meet the unique needs of each site and student group.
• Serve as the go-to liaison between 4Roots and assigned program locations.
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Help track outcomes, student engagement, and garden progress to support program goals and grants.

We’d Love to Hear from You If You Have:

• At least 1 year of experience working with youth (in after-school programs, camps, tutoring, etc.)
• Basic gardening knowledge and a passion for food, nature, and health
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, adaptable attitude
• The ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in Florida weather
• Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license

Bonus Points If You Have:

• A degree in education, environmental science, agriculture, or a related field
• Experience leading outdoor education or working in garden/farm-based programs
• A desire to grow—both professionally and personally—in a mission-driven environment
