Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, performing material take-offs, and generating accurate cost estimates for commercial roofing projects. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and passionate about precision and construction excellence.
Core Responsibilities:
Estimating & Bid Preparation:
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Perform on-site inspections and take-offs as needed.
• Prepare detailed project proposals and bid packages.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales during pre-construction.
Material & Vendor Coordination:
• Source and price materials and subcontractor work.
• Request and evaluate vendor quotes and lead times.
• Coordinate special-order materials with long lead times.
Client & Team Communication:
• Communicate directly with clients to clarify project scopes and timelines.
• Support sales and project teams in proposal presentation and hand-off.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
Documentation & CRM:
• Maintain accurate estimate records in CRM and internal systems, ZOHO and Estimating Edge experience a plus.
• Track historical cost data for continuous improvement.
• Ensure all estimate documentation is up to date and clearly communicated.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of commercial roofing or construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and construction documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and estimating software.
• Excellent math, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to visit job sites, climb ladders, and walk on roofs when needed.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with occasional fieldwork.
